About Us

Dr. Christina Blodgett Dycus, Clinical Neuropsychologist and Practice Founder

Thomson Memory Center is committed to people and their loved ones with memory and thinking problems.

Established in 2008, Thomson Memory Center serves the Chicagoland area with neuropsychology services for dementia, Alzheimer's, adult attention deficit disorder, children's learning and attention problems, post-concussion screenings, and cognitive rehabilitation for stroke, brain tumors and other disorders that affect thinking. Offices are conveniently located in Hoffman Estates/South Barrington, Algonquin, St. Charles, Deerfield, Chicago-Uptown and Oak Brook.

TMC's comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations take into account the whole patient and can provide a road map for interventions. Our team of highly skilled providers is here to help.

Our team of neuropsychologists have years of intensive, highly specialized experience in evaluating brain function and thinking ability. Thomson Memory Center provides comprehensive neuropsychological testing, resources and compassion for those affected by a variety of conditions.

A neuropsychological evaluation looks at the function of the brain, similar to how an MRI looks at the structure of the brain. We can determine what areas are functioning normally and if some areas are not. Different cognitive profiles are associated with different disorders or diseases, such as:

  • Adult Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
  • Alzheimer's Disease
  • Anxiety
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)/Asperger's
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD)
  • Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease/Prion Disease
  • Dementia
  • Depression
  • Frontotemporal Dementia (Pick's Disease)
  • Glioma (tumor that starts in the brain or spine)
  • Major Depressive Disorder
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NVLD)
  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
  • Personality Disorder
  • Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP)
  • Specific Learning Disorders (Dyslexia) in reading, comprehension, written expression and mathematics
  • Stroke (infarct/aneurysm)
  • Traumatic Brain Injury/Concussions
  • Vascular Disease

Thomson Memory Center also offers Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy, a behavioral treatment program addressing difficulties with thinking.
