Where to Start
The Thomson Memory Center can evaluate and diagnose your child with an attention disorder, such as ADHD, or a leaning disability, such as a Reading Disorder, among others.
What Can Be Done
An appropriate diagnosis can result inschoolaccommodations, like IEP or 504 plans, specialized tutors, or extended test takingtime, as stipulated by the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
Cognitive Skills Training
Based on your child’s particular functioning, a training program that utilizes thinking strengths to compensate for weaknesses and promote neuroplasticity is developed. A program typically consists of serveral, hour-long training sessions, administered once per week. Results are often noticed within the first few sessions. Your child will continue to benefit from the resources learned long after the conclusion of the sessions.
