Founder & Clinical Director

Dr. Christina Blodgett Dycus is the Founder and Clinical Director of Thomson Memory & Attention, founded in honor of her grandmother's struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She earned her Doctorate from the Illinois Institute of Technology and completed her fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Loyola University Medical Center. Her clinical interests are in the correlation of neuropsychological data and neuroimaging results. Dr. Blodgett Dycus was born and raised in the northwest suburbs, where she now resides with her own family.

Dr. Amanda Schnibben, Psy.D.

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Amanda Schnibben completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University in Santa Barbara in 2014. She joined Thomson Memory & Attention in August of 2014 after completing her internship in Forensic Psychology at Elgin Mental Health Center where she underwent training in psychopathology and evidence-based interventions. Dr. Schnibben’s previous experience includes rotations at Cognitive Fitness and Innovative Therapies (CFIT) and the California Department of Rehabilitation where she worked closely with individuals who suffered traumatic brain injuries. Her clinical interests include emotion dysregulation, Dementia, and cognitive rehabilitation for a variety of conditions (e.g., neurological disorders, TBIs, ADHD, and Stroke). Dr. Schnibben utilizes cognitive behavioral techniques as well as family systems and psychodynamic approaches in clinical settings when appropriate. Her overall approach to treatment is to bring her patients a balanced blend of compassion, common sense, humor, and clinical expertise that will help the patient make meaningful and measurable progress towards their therapeutic goals. Dr. Schnibben currently resides with her family in the southwest suburbs.

Dr. Christopher Howard, Psy.D.

Clinical Neuropsychology Fellow

Dr. Christopher Howard completed his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Adler University - Chicago in 2020. Christopher joined Thomson Memory & Attention in July of 2022. Dr. Howard’s previous experience includes rotations at the Emory Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, where he worked closely with individuals suffering from traumatic brain injuries, an assortment of cognitive impairments stemming from various diseases, cardiovascular ailments, and surgeries. During his time there, Dr. Howard was integral to the development of the Emory Healthcare Veterans Cognitive Remediation Program where he provided cognitive remediation to service members with traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Howard has been published in the journals Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology and The Clinical Neuropsychologist. Dr. Howard completed an internship at Wasatch Mental Health, which afforded him an opportunity to provide neuropsychological assessment to individuals who were grappling with substance abuse, neurological disorders, ADHD, and strokes. His clinical interests include cognitive aging, health disparity, and community outreach. Dr. Howard was instrumental in developing a community outreach program, Advocates for Community Wellness, which has spearheaded luncheons and mental health awareness raising events throughout the city of Chicago, particularly with respect to Alzheimer's dementia within underserved communities.

Dr. Monica Gamez, Psy.D.
Dr. Ennis F. Vaile, Ph.D.

Clinical Neuropsychology Fellow 

Dr. Ennis Vaile received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Montana in 2023 after completing his APA-accredited internship at the VA Health Care System in Salt Lake City, UT. During his internship, Dr. Vaile completed rotations in neuropsychological assessment, rehabilitation psychology, outpatient substance use recovery, trauma-focused therapy for college veterans, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). His research interests are centered around promoting resilience in American Indian older adults who face health disparities related to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis, and asthma. Dr. Vaile is currently completing his post-doctoral training at Thomson Memory & Attention with clinical interests including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and dementia. Within his clinical work, he has worked with individuals across the lifespan, including school-age children and elderly adults. Dr. Vaile is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe (Amskapi Piikuni) in Montana and looks forward to bringing his neuropsychological training back to Indian Country and Indian Health Service (IHS). He takes a strength-based perspective that strives for respect, equity, and the provision of culturally informed care. Outside of his professional work, his hobbies include playing guitar, reading, cooking, hiking, camping, exploring other cultures, and enjoying time with his family.
