Clinical Neuropsychology Fellow

Dr. Andrea Chalmers-Grosz joined Thomson Memory & Attention as a neuropsychology fellow in 2022. Her primary area of interest is with pediatrics in addition to individuals across the lifespan. Prior to doctoral training, Dr. Chalmers-Grosz obtained her Master’s in Applied Behavioral Analysis and Therapy. She is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She has specialized in working with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As a result of her training in behavioral analysis and years of practice, she finds value in utilizing behavioral approaches.

Dr. Chalmers-Grosz’s background is in helping those with disabilities and their families, anxiety, depression, and marital issues. She offers a warm and genuine approach, seeking to help her clients feel comfortable while challenging them to grow.  Dr. Chalmers-Grosz welcomes clients from diverse cultures as her upbringing outside of the USA and education in other countries offers a unique addition to her clinical skills. In her free time, Dr. Chalmers-Grosz enjoys hiking, mountain biking with her husband, playing the violin, cooking, learning new languages, and traveling.

Dr. Calsey Fasching, Psy.D.

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Calsey Fasching joined Thomson Memory & Attention in 2016 for her post-doctoral fellowship after earning her Doctorate from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and finishing her internship at the Department of State Hospitals in California. Following the completion of her post-doctoral fellowship, she has remained a part of the clinical team at Thomson Memory & Attention’s Minnesota locations. Dr. Fasching's clinical skills include neuropsychological evaluation across the lifespan and is particularly gifted in assessing geriatric patients. Outside of the office, Dr. Fasching enjoys running and spending time with her family.

Dr. Nickolas Armstrong, Psy.D.
Dr. Crys Rivers, Ph.D., J.D.

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Crys Rivers joined Thomson Memory & Attention in 2023 as a Clinical Neuropsychologist. Dr. Rivers provides evaluations to patients with known or suspected neurodevelopmental disorders, neurodegenerative disease, chronic pain, chronic medical conditions, and various psychiatric disorders. She is licensed in both Minnesota and Iowa. 

Dr. Rivers earned her Ph.D. from Arizona State University’s Clinical Psychology program in Tempe, AZ. She also holds a law degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel HillDr. Rivers’ clinical training includes a residency in neuropsychology at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ and an internship with major rotations in neuropsychology, geropsychology, and pain psychology at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, Iowa. She received two years of specialized training in psycho-vocational assessment of individuals with low vision, traumatic brain injury, or serious mental illness through the Arizona Rehabilitation Services Administration. Dr. Rivers’ postdoctoral experience includes psychological evaluations for Veterans in residential treatment at VA Central Iowa Health Care Systems. She received additional supervised postdoctoral training in neurodevelopmental assessment during her first year at Central Iowa Psychological Services (CIPS).

Prior to joining Thomson, Dr. Rivers served as Clinical Director and Neuropsychologist at CIPS where she was responsible for practice-wide leadership and management of clinical service delivery. Prior to her clinical training and career, Dr. Rivers served in leadership and management roles across industries that included software, publishing, and healthcare. 

Dr. Rivers’ research interests and publications cover a range of lifespan mental health areas, such as resilience-based interventions for PTSD, the effects of chronic pain on affect/ mood, the effects of early trauma on daily event reactivity, and a systems-based definition of resilience.

Dr. Jamie Mersola, Psy.D.

Clinical Neuropsychology Fellow

Dr. Jamie Mersola joined Thomson Memory & Attention in September of 2023 after completing his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University/CSPP – Los Angeles. He completed his APA-accredited internship at Nystrom and Associates in Minnesota, with an emphasis on neurodevelopmental and psychological assessment with children and adolescents. Dr. Mersola’s previous experience includes rotations at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), where he conducted neurodevelopmental evaluations for infants and children diagnosed with sickle and non-sickle cell anemias, congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), congenital heart disease, pediatric-onset multiple sclerosis, and preterm birth. Additionally, Dr. Mersola spent 2 years in private practice assessing children and adults for autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, specific learning disabilities, motoric and sensory deficits, language disorders, and mood and personality concerns. 

Dr. Mersola is passionate about neuropsychological assessment during infancy and early childhood, with a specific focus on neurodevelopmental issues and acquired and congenital illnesses. Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, working out, watching movies, and doing various projects around the house. Growing up in Los Angeles, Dr. Mersola also enjoys watersports and outdoor activities.
